PE Coated Aluminum Foil Roll

PE coated aluminum foil roll is produced by applying an extremely thin layer (2–15 μm) of polyethylene (PE) resin onto the surface of aluminum foil. While retaining the aluminum foil's high barrier properties and flexibility, it gains lowtemperature heat sealability, acid/alkali resistance, and moisture resistance. It is mainly used in lightweight heatsealing applications such as induction sealing liners for bottle caps, yogurt lid films, butter wrapping paper, and the inner layer of cosmetic tubes. Compared to conventional thicker PE laminated films, the coating is thinner, more flexible, and lower in cost, but its heat seal strength is relatively lower.

The applications of PE coated aluminum foil roll are primarily in lightweight heatseal packaging, bottle cap sealing, and industrial moisture protection.

1. Food Packaging

• Yogurt/Jelly Cup Lidding Film: PE coated aluminum foil roll is directly heatsealed onto plastic cups – easypeel and airtight. The extremely thin coating ensures easy opening.
• Butter/Cheese Wrapping Paper: Singlelayer aluminum foil coated with PE, wrapped around butter blocks and heatsealed at both ends to form a twist wrap.
• Food Containers (select types): The inner surface of aluminum foil meal containers is coated with PE to prevent acidic foods (e.g., tomato sauce) from corroding the foil.

2.Bottle Cap Sealing

• Bottle Cap Liners (Induction Sealing Liners): Aluminum foil coated with PE is laminated onto a foamed PE backing. During induction heating, the PE melts and heatseals the foil onto the bottle mouth. Commonly used for soy sauce, beverages, and pharmaceutical bottles.
• Inner Coating of Wine Bottle Aluminum Caps: The inner side of aluminum foil caps for red or white wine is coated with PE to facilitate heatshrinking and provide corrosion protection.

3. Pharmaceutical Packaging

• Pharmaceutical Blister Packaging (select types): PE coating applied to aluminum foil before lamination with PVC can improve seal performance or serve as an additional moisture barrier.
• Inner Layer of Granule Sachets: Singlelayer aluminum foil coated with PE, directly heatsealed into small sachets for traditional Chinese medicine granules.

4. Personal Care Packaging

• Inner Coating of Cosmetic Tubes: In laminated tubes (PE/AL/PE), a PE coating can be applied between the aluminum foil and the inner PE layer to enhance adhesion, or directly on the aluminum foil as the inner layer.
• Soap Wrapping Paper: After laminating aluminum foil with paper, the foil side is coated with PE to enable heat sealing for automated packaging.

5.Industrial Packaging

• Desiccant / Oxygen Absorber Packaging: Small sachets with an inner PE coating – heat sealable and moistureproof.
• Moisture-Barrier Bags for Electronic Components: Aluminum foil coated with PE serves as the heatsealable inner layer for vacuum moisturebarrier packaging.
