3003 Aluminum Coil

3003 aluminum coil is an Al-Mn alloy (Mn 1.0–1.5%) that delivers roughly 20% higher strength than 1100 while retaining excellent corrosion resistance and formability. Where pure aluminum coil is too soft for structural or load-bearing parts, 3003 aluminum coil provides a practical middle ground: strong enough for roofing, heat exchangers, and pressure vessels, yet still easy to draw, spin, weld, and braze.

This 3003 aluminum coil is non-heat-treatable and strengthened by cold work. Standard tempers include O, H12, H14, H16, H18, H22, and H24. Typical mechanical values: O temper - tensile 95–130 MPa, elongation ≥20%; H14 - tensile 140–180 MPa. The manganese addition is what separates 3003 aluminum coil from 1xxx grades: it raises strength without compromising the atmospheric corrosion resistance that makes aluminum coil suitable for outdoor and chemical environments.
